Our client is a world leader in the development, production and marketing of medicines, innovative and specialty pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter consumer healthcare products as well as supplying active pharmaceutical ingredients to almost 1,000 customers in over 100 countries. With over a century of experience in pharmaceutical industry, they are recognised for bringing considerable benefits to the NHS in the UK, supplying a wide range of medicines as well as working alongside NHS organisations to improve the management of long term conditions. Today they specialise in both generic and branded medicines, improving the lives of patients, whether it is by fighting infections, controlling cholesterol, relieving the symptoms of asthma, or providing lifesaving injectable medicines and pain relief for cancer sufferers.
The client now requires a first-class OPERATIONS MANAGER to join the team at their manufacturing site in the North West. You will be a dynamic, senior manufacturing Operations professional with a successful track record of achievement against production KPI’s and driving continuous improvement in similar settings. You will be able to utilise your experience to make an immediate impact, demonstrating team leadership in relevant production settings, including pharma (ideally steriles) experience in your career to date. You will be a highly effective communicator, pragmatic and able to adopt appropriate styles and behaviours in different situations and in working with people at all levels. You will be immediately credible as a leader and be an effective team manager, organising and motivating your team to work within often tight operational and quality KPI’s.
- Lead the team in delivering against Operational, Cost & Quality KPI’s relevant to the allocated value stream
- Agree and implement Operational Plan, review on a monthly basis & ensure that output and service requirements are met
- Ensure continuity of effective operations through effective communications & teamwork between shifts and departments
- Deliver against operational production targets (filling & packing), taking responsibility for effective local planning
- Ensure pharmaceutical compliance and take responsibility for departmental EHS matters
- Execute the Annual Operations Plan and measure performance against daily, weekly & monthly KPI’s with Shift Managers, Engineering & Supply Chain functional colleagues
- Experienced Operations Manager or senior professional with extensive production / filling experience, including team leadership in relevant settings, i.e. pharma / steriles.
- Able to demonstrate a clear track record of success of delivery against the primary Key Deliverables (above), most likely gained in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Can demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a wider operations and supply chain team
- Continuous improvement mindset, focuses on production KPI’s as well as compliance, standards and overall performance
- Effective leader – motivates and leads the team in achieving all supply chain goals
- Technical mindset – able to assess technical issues and communicate effectively in identifying and resolving issues
